What should you tell the dispatcher?
- Where you are: the road and direction, or the nearest cross street.
- Your vehicle: year, make and model.
- The problem: tire, battery, fuel, keys or stuck.
- For a tire: where the spare is and whether you have the lug nut key.
- For fuel: gas or diesel.
How do you stay safe while you wait?
- Pull as far off the road as you can. Hazards on.
- On a busy road, stay buckled in unless you can get out on the side away from traffic.
- Set warning triangles if you have them and it’s safe.
- Anyone hurt, or a child or pet locked in a hot car? Call 911 first.
